Marine accessories manufacturer Vetus is building a new waterfront headquarters in the same neighborhood of Schiedam, the Netherlands, where company founder Willem den Ouden started the company nearly 60 years ago.

The 102,250-square-foot facility will include an office space that encourages collaboration and creativity. Warehouse capacity doubles, and there will be dedicated slips for demo boats. There are also plans for a rooftop solar array, and the building will rely on heat pumps instead of natural gas for heating.

“After 50 yeas of Vetus being housed in the Fokkerstraat in Schiedam, it’s exciting to be moving into this impressive [headquarters] in 2024, which will also be our 60th anniversary year,” Marcel Borsboom, CEO of Vetus, said in a statement. “This light, bright, modern facility has been designed with the latest thinking on maximizing staff wellbeing and effective collaboration that will make Vetus more attractive as an employer.”

According to the release, the move is part of Vetus’ wider and long-term strategy for growth and development, which has seen the increase of its global presence through the opening of new branch offices, as well as multiple regional team expansions.

Vetus is a part of Yanmar Marine International.
