Volvo Penta has expanded its range of remanufactured engines, and now offers rebuilt D13, D8, D6 and D4 engines plus the full IPS range. The engines will be backed by a Volvo Penta Genuine Parts warranty.

The D13 and D8 are available now, and the D4 and D6 will follow in the fall. Rebuilt D16 and D11 engines will be offered in 2025 and 2026. Remanufacturing reuses up to 60% of components and can save up to 56% of CO2 emissions during production compared with a new engine.

Also, Volvo Penta now offers complete propulsion packages from remanufactured IPS drivelines. The drives are produced on the same line as new units and are backed by the same warranty.

“Changing an engine is now straightforward with our newly expanded remanufacturing offer, delivering fast and easy-to-install solutions available via a call, click or email,” global product manager Roland Henriksson said in a statement. “We now offer our largest selection of remanufactured engines and drivelines, available from stock and ready for deployment in days.”

While the remanufactured engines are covered by the Genuine Parts warranty, remanufactured components are covered by a 12-month warranty, including labor. If supplied and installed by an authorized Volvo Penta dealer, the warranty extends up to 24 months, 600 hours for recreational use or 3,000 hours for commercial.
