Lars Ljungström has been named vice president of finance and chief financial officer for Volvo Penta of the Americas.
Ljungström will provide strategic leadership over finance, planning, budgeting and reporting for North, South and Central America and the Caribbean.
He also will oversee the coordination of IT systems and services, as well as legal and sales operations.
Ljungström previously was CFO at GKN Aerospace Engine Systems, where he was responsible for finance and IT, internal control compliance activities and implementation of financial policies and procedures; he played a key role in the systems applications products rollout across sites.
Ljungström also has served as controller and held other positions within Volvo Penta and the Volvo Group.
Originally from Sweden, Ljungström has an MBA from the University of Gothenburg.
“Lars is an engaged leader who is passionate about business, operations and process efficiency,” Ron Huibers, president of Volvo Penta of the Americas, said in a statement. “In addition to his broad experience as a controller and CFO, he has managed both sales and operational entities, which will give him unique perspective as he assumes this new role as a key member of the Volvo Penta executive team.”
