Volvo Penta of the Americas marketing and communications manager Christine McKone was named as one of the Virginian-Pilot’s 40 under 40.
The 34-year old discussed her career, her volunteer work, and that she and her husband are expecting a baby girl with the newspaper.
When asked to describe her motivating factor, McKone said: “Creating a life that I can look back on one day with a smile and sense of contentment, knowing I’ve been successful in living out all I’ve aimed to accomplish — both personally and professionally.”
“Always surround yourself with people you can learn from. Whose attributes, skills and achievements you strive to one day emulate,” said McKone, when asked to give advice to other young professionals. “Those who are more positive, driven, passionate and successful than you are at the present — and may ever be.”
