Yamaha last week announced that it named Grant Suzuki chief of technology, Advance Marine Systems. Grant Suzuki will lead the company’s Marine Advance Development teams and build out its connectivity, autonomous operations and electrification strategies.

“Grant has an impressive track record of leveraging science and technology to find solutions for real-world problems,” Yamaha U.S. Marine Business Unit president Ben Speciale said in a statement. Suzuki has more than 20 years of experience in software and system architecture, and “his leadership will help propel Yamaha’s product development to the next level,” Speciale added.

Suzuki previously served as director of Sumitomo Corp. of America, Automotive Group, where he developed a team of engineers to provide solutions in design, development and implementation of embedded systems and cloud solutions.
