Yanmar Marine International has named two key appointments to its Netherland-headquartered sales and marketing departments.
Bas Eerden has joined the manufacturer as global sales manager. He will coordinate company strategy with local offices, OEMs and distributors, and is also tasked with increasing market presence and maximizing efficiencies to enable sales development.
Eerden, who brings experience from roles at Japan Radio Company, Alphatron Marine, Mastervolt and Advanced Systems Group, will report to Yanmar Marine sales and marketing director Floris Lettinga.
“I hope to implement my experience in effectively liaising between technical and commercial personnel to ensure clear and relevant communication with our customers and partners,” Bas said in a statement. “The focus for [Yanmar] continues to be on highlighting our engines and integrated systems, while engaging closely with our customers through direct interaction on a local basis.”
Michele Durkin comes onboard as global marketing manager of the global marketing marine department.
Originally from Liverpool, U.K., Durkin spent more than eight years in the construction industry for Kobelco Europe after moving to the Netherlands in 2008.
Durkin plans to use her experience in communicating brand values and messages, promotion strategy, project management, planning of budgets and events, running B2B and B2C sites, webshops and content, to refresh Yanmar’s branding strategy and marketing planning moving forward.
