TowBoatUS yesterday announced the addition of a towing and assistance port in Roosevelt, Minn., on the west side of Lake of the Woods. The operation will be run by Capts. Doug and Melanie Nelson.
TowBoatUS Rocky Point has a 21-foot response vessel for towing and salvage homeported at Arneson’s Rock Point Resort in Roosevelt, Minn. The Nelsons are Coast Guard-licensed captains. This is the couple’s second TowBoatUS location, which joins their port in Baudette, Minn.
“We have a lot of possibilities,” Doug Nelson said in a statement. “Being able to service the west side of the lake efficiently from our new west-side port means shorter response times to requests for assistance.”
