The Dania Marine Flea Market will open this Thursday and run through Sunday, March 4 at the Mardi Gras Casino in Hallandale Beach, Fla. The 26-acre parking lot will host what organizers call the “world’s largest nautical swap shop.”
“Some shoppers to the Marine Flea Market travel hundreds of miles to find that elusive part for a 1946 vintage outboard motor,” said Jennifer Dudas, event coordinator for the flea market, in a statement. “Others are looking for antique fishing tackle. Over the four days, thousands of boating and fishing-related items are bought and sold through a system of dickering and dealing at a fraction of their retail value.”
The equipment for sale ranges from antique ship’s clocks to current marine electronics to SCUBA gear to outboard motors, propellers and more. The Mardi Gras Casino is located at US1 and Pembroke Road in Hallandale Beach. It opens at 9 a.m. every morning and is open until 6 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and until 4 p.m. on Sunday.
