Sea Hawk Paints’ new Smart Solution antifouling uses copper- and metal-free biocides, resulting in no bioaccumulation in the environment, according to the company.
“The coating’s reaction to water creates a slick film that encapsulates the hull, providing enhanced speed,” says Erik Norrie, Sea Hawk president and CEO. Smart Solution, which uses the active biocide Econea, is an ablative bottom paint backed by a one-year written guarantee against barnacles, says Jason Revie, Sea Hawk vice president of sales and marketing.
