Brunswick Commercial & Government Products and the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators are partnering to create a patrol vessel designed for recreational boating safety patrol officers and maritime first responders.

The NASBLA Patrol Edition Boston Whaler 21-foot Guardian is intended for near-shore and inland waterways and is specifically aimed to meet the needs of law enforcement and emergency rescue personnel.

Equipped with a 250-hp Mercury outboard engine and many industry-standard features customized for the law enforcement professional, the Patrol Edition vessel has been identified by the NASBLA enforcement and training committee as the best boat for this mission.

“NASBLA’s Enforcement & Training Committee was assigned to select a vessel model and option package to meet the demands of maritime law enforcement and response. The boat had to be suitable for a single operator, capable of being towed, launched and operated in near-shore coastal waters, rivers and lakes,” NASBLA deputy executive director John Fetterman said in a statement.

The first Patrol Edition vessel will be delivered to the Maine Department of Marine Resources, Bureau of Marine Patrol, and will be on display Oct. 16-19 at the 55th NASBLA Annual Conference in Bar Harbor, Maine.

“The unsinkable Boston Whaler Guardian hull is ideal for RBS patrol environments,” Brunswick Commercial & Government Products director of sales Jeremy Davis said. “This program illustrates our dedication to adapting to meet the needs of our customers, as well as our endless commitment to boating safety awareness initiatives.”
