The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament kicked off this week in Morehead City, N.C. with a massive field of 205 boats competing for over 3.3 million dollars in prize money over several categories of gamefish.
One of those anglers is arguably the most recognizable athlete of the last 50 years. And just like on the basketball court, you can’t argue with the results.

On the second day of the event, organizers reported that Michael Jordan and crew aboard his 80-foot Viking convertible Catch 23 boated a 442.3 pound blue marlin, currently the 6th heaviest blue marlin in the tourney.
Prizes will also be given to heaviest wahoo, tuna, mahi-mahi and total points accumulated for billfish releases.
Don’t count out MJ just yet, as the tournament runs through June 13. And if you know anything about the Hall of Famer, six-time Finals champ, five-time MVP and the star of last month’s documentary The Last Dance, never count him out.
