Evinrude said it has received a 2018 Red Dot Award in Product Design for its E-TEC G2 150- to 200-hp outboard engines. The annual awards are given for Product Design, Communication Design or Design Concept.
Evinrude said in a statement that it was “honored” to have been selected for “excellence in design.” The Red Dot design awards started in 1955. This year’s judging panel included 40 judges who looked at different products for innovation, functionality, ergonomics and durability.
The Red Dot jury noted the Evinrude E-TEC G2’s “distinctive appearance enabling personalization which characterizes this outboard motor platform. It also convinces with a combination of powerful motor and environmentally friendly combustion technology.”
