Republican Rep. Jefferson Shreve of Indiana toured Yamaha Precision Propellers in Greenfield, Ind., this week during peak production hours. The plant’s foundry operations include molten metal casting, machining and finishing.

“This is a significant investment in Hancock County, and the type of investment we want to see and encourage,” Shreve said in a statement. “What you have here in the Indianapolis metro area is access to a talented workforce that can do a lot for our state.”

Shreve is serving his first year in Congress representing Indiana’s sixth congressional district.

John O’Keefe, government relations senior specialist for Yamaha’s U.S. Marine Business Unit, said such visits reinforce the value of investing in domestic jobs. “Elected officials play an important role in supporting a strong workforce pipeline,” he said in the statement.
