Bavaria Yachts last week announced that it appointed former CEO Michael Müller into his old position with immediate effect. He was asked to return by the shipyard’s advisory board when Marc Diening decided to step down from the position.
In a statement, Bavaria Yachts said Müller will work with COO Norbert Leifeld and CFO Thorsten Gatz to run the yard located near Würzburg, Germany, that employees 700 people.
Müller was the CEO at Bavaria from 2019 to 2021 and was an advisory board member. In 2020, he was a key part of the launch of the Bavaria SR41 powerboat and the C42 sailboat. In 2021, he handed over the reins to Diening who steered Bavaria through the pandemic and oversaw the development of the C46 sailboat and the SR33 motor yacht.
The reasons for Diening’s departure were not disclosed.
