Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will deliver keynote remarks during the Industry Breakfast and Awards Ceremony on opening day of the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference, Sept. 28.
IBEX runs Sept. 28-30 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Fla.
“We are excited to welcome Governor DeSantis to IBEX and honored to have him speak during our Industry Breakfast kickoff event,” show director Anne Dunbar said in a statement. “The innovation that is highlighted at IBEX matters not only to Florida, but to the entire marine industry, so we thank the governor for making time in his busy schedule to be with us.”
The Industry Breakfast includes a State of the Industry address by NMMA president Frank Hugelmeyer and the presentation of the NMMA Hall of Fame Award, the Mel Barr Award and the Innovation Awards. It will be held at the JW Marriott Tampa Water Street from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., and tickets are $50.
“Governor DeSantis has been champion of the recreational boating industry since his time in Congress, and we are honored to have him join us at our preeminent trade event,” Hugelmeyer said. “IBEX provides a unique opportunity to showcase the industry’s latest and greatest innovations, and we look forward to sharing this experience with the governor.”
