The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show this morning kicked off at seven locations across the city, including Bahia Mar Yachting Center, Broward County Convention Center, Hall of Fame Marina, Las Olas Marina, Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina, Pier 66 Marina and Superyacht Village at Pier 66 South.
The five-day show last year attracted more than 100,000 attendees and 1,000 exhibitors, with 1,300-plus boats on display. It is owned by the Marine Industries Association of South Florida and produced by Informa Markets.
There are stiff macroeconomic headwinds from elevated interest rates, inflation and other factors as the industry heads into the show. Soundings Trade Only and the Active Interest Media Marine Group will be on the ground reporting on industry news, new-boat and product launches, and more from the show.
Show hours are noon to 7 p.m. today; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
