PHOTO COURTESY NMMA Organizers today announced the full schedule of events for the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference, which is scheduled for Oct. 1-3 at the Tampa Convention Center in Florida.
“IBEX is where better boats begin, and it is also the place where industry professionals come to network with colleagues and friends,” executive director Anne Dunbar said in a statement. “The connections in our industry are what make our community so special, and we have a schedule packed with networking and special events.”
Special sessions and networking events include opportunities to connect with colleagues, do business, meet with suppliers and build partnerships.
The Opening Day Industry Breakfast, which is sold out, will include an address from National Marine Manufacturers Association president Frank Hugelmeyer, the presentation of the IBEX Innovation Awards, and a keynote from Charlie Cook, founder of the independent, non-partisan Cook Political Report.
Networking events are scheduled each day at IBEX, including the Opening Night Party at the Sail Pavilion. The All-Industry Exhibit Hall Happy Hour and the Mid-Show Mixer return, as do Pitch the Press and Career Day.
The Main Stage will showcase several events, but the opportunity to secure seats will end soon.
Avoiding Contradictions in Technology on Oct. 2 at 8:30 a.m. — moderated by Aaron Porter, editor of Professional BoatBuilder magazine, and Ben Stein, editor/publisher of Panbo.com — will focus on answering the question of how to manage the longevity of boat designs and construction compared with the shorter life spans of electric, electronic and other critical components.
Later that morning on the Main Stage, former NMMA president Thom Dammrich will moderate the Visionary Leadership Panel Discussion: The Driving Force Behind the Marine Industry’s Small & Medium Sized Businesses at 11 a.m. Included in this session is a catered lunch.
