Organizers of the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference announced that this year’s show will include a “Sustainability Experience.”

As part of the Sustainability Experience, IBEX added Sustainable Technology Pavilion and organized a Sustainability Trade Route for participating exhibitors, according to a statement. The IBEX Education Conference added a Sustainability Track and will include a free special session: The Carbon Conundrum on Oct. 4. Also, a new Green Café and Learning Lab will include a coffee cart and lunch with video displays highlighting sustainable products on display.

IBEX is scheduled for Oct. 3-5 at the Tampa Convention Center in Florida.

The Carbon Conundrum discussion will include speakers Jeff Wasil from NMMA, Jeffrey Bowles of DLBA Naval Architects, Marnix Hoekstra of Vripack Yacht Design, Martin Peters of Yamaha U.S. Marine Business Unit and Augusto “Kiko” Villanon from Marine Concepts. The program will be moderated by Aaron Porter, editor of Professional BoatBuilder magazine, and Tim Murphy of the American Boat & Yacht Council.

The session is intended to help professionals balance trends in more horsepower and efficient, alternative propulsion and hull design.

The Sustainable Technology Pavilion will include Ingenity, Torqeedo and Vision Marine Technologies, among other companies, and the Trade Route will highlight exhibitors and brands with environmentally friendly products.
