Organizers of the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference announced that construction at the Tampa Convention Center in Florida will be completed in time for this year’s show, which is scheduled for Oct. 3-5.
“We look forward to welcoming the industry to IBEX at the newly updated Tampa Convention Center,” show director Anne Dunbar said in a statement. “All attendees will notice the expanded third floor exhibit hall and additional natural light the renovations will bring. Our seminar participants will also enjoy updated conference rooms and lighting.”
The project adds additional fourth-floor meeting rooms with water views to the third-floor expansion. The expansion adds 5,900 square feet of exhibit space. The fourth floor will host the IBEX VIP lounge. More than 675 exhibiting companies will fill three floors of exhibit halls, occupying more than 134,000 square feet indoors, plus outdoor displays and docks.
“This is the largest renovation project in the center’s history since it opened in 1990,” Tampa Mayor Jane Castor said in the statement. “Tampa is excited to host IBEX and show all that our city and our convention center have to offer.”
