The Lake Erie Marine Trades Association said it will hold the new Akron Boat & Water Sports Show March 3-5 in the John S. Knight Center in Akron, Ohio.
“For some time we’ve felt there was a need for a good boat show in that area of Ohio,” LEMTA president Bryan Ralston said in a statement. “The Greater Akron market, which includes the cities of Canton, Warren and Youngstown, is rich in lakes and waterways, and water sports of all kinds are major summer activities for thousands of families there.”
The trade group said that during the initial space selection night, which was held before Christmas, dealers enthusiastically reserved most of the exhibit space available in the modern Knight Center, which is in downtown Akron.
All of the boats slated for display will feature the water sports lifestyle, including paddleboards, kayaks, tow boats, fishing models, pontoons, runabouts and PWC. Equipment and accessory displays will support a full slate of seminars and clinics on wakesurfing, wakeboarding, skiing, fishing, and other subjects.
LEMTA annually produces shows that include the Mid-America Boat Show in Cleveland; Catawba Island Boat Show in Port Clinton; North American In-Water Boat Show at Cedar Point; and the Chicagoland Boat Show in northern Indiana.
