Metstrade and The Foiling Organization, an international association for the foiling industry, announced a partnership during the Foiling Awards, held March 29 in Milan, Italy.

The partnership will lead to the first Foiling Technology Pavilion at Metstrade this year to showcase manufacturers of foiling hardware and technology.

“We cannot wait to unveil the latest of our forward-thinking feature areas, and we anticipate wide interest from visitors and exhibitors alike,” show director Niels Klaranbeek said in a statement. “It is a logical progression for us to take a leading role in partnership with The Foiling Organization to encourage the mainstream adoption of a technology that has such great potential to reduce energy consumption while increasing the pleasure of those who go afloat.”

The pavilion will highlight the progress being made with foiling technology in the racing sector and how it can move toward wider recreational adoption. It will include stage for discussions.

Confirmed exhibitors include Caponnetto Hueber, Foilchemy and Vakaros.

“Foiling is changing the water mobility system,” Luca Rizzotti, founder of The Foiling Organization and founder and president of We Are Foiling events, said in the statement. “The decarbonization targets set by the E.U., the U.N. and the IMO make foiling an almost obligatory choice for new leisure and commercial applications.”
