The Newport International Boat Show will be held Sept. 12 to 15, spanning more than 15 acres with six connecting show sites in the downtown section of Newport, R.I.
New for this year, an acre of boat exhibit space has been added including a brokerage basin with power and sailboats.
Educational opportunities include the Cruiser’s Classroom, located below-deck at the Hammetts entrance to the show. The classroom will cover topics including boat handling, fishing, safety, maintenance and financing. Tech Talks are hands-on training classes led by American Boat and Yacht Council expert Ed Sherman. Registration for the tech talks in advance is recommended because seating is limited.
Show management also is introducing the Windward VIP Lounge, which includes a premium bar, gourmet food, private restrooms and places to relax.
Located at the end of Commercial Wharf, the Bohlin Tent will host live music and food and drink offerings.
“Expanding on the successful momentum of the past few years, we have added a number of brand-new experiences and activities to delight and entertain our visitors,” Jocelyn Emory, marketing director of Newport International Boat Show, said in a statement. “Every year, we try to build an incredible event for our attendees, and we are proud to debut many of these offerings this year.”
