The Discover Boating New York Boat Show opened yesterday at the Javits Center in New York City and runs through Jan. 28. An opening-night party benefitting the Billion Oyster Project included oyster tastings, chef and mixologist demonstrations, and samplings within the Discover Boating Beach Club.

In a statement, the National Marine Manufacturers Association said it would participate in the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange to celebrate the opening of the show.

The Discover Boating Louisville Boat, RV & Sportshow also opened yesterday, at the Kentucky Exposition Center. In addition to boats and accessories, the show will include a Discover Boating Lake Life Lounge, Wake Zone, Paddle Sports Pool, Fred’s Shed How-To Center and Puppy Pals daily shows.
