The 2016 edition of the METS Trade Show opens its doors on Tuesday at the RAI Amsterdam convention center.
With a record number of 1,471 exhibitors and an extra 3,000 square meters (approximately 32,300 square feet) of layout, 22,000-plus professional visitors are expected from around the globe at the Nov.15-17 show.
The Global Superyacht Forum, the HISWA Symposium on Yacht Design and Construction and the Leisure Marine Sustainability Conference kick off METS Trade week on Monday.
The METS Trade Show itself will start Tuesday with the traditional Breakfast Briefing, with keynote speaker and circular economy expert Steven Beckers, and the announcement of the DAME Design Award winner.
The doors of the exhibition will then swing open to unveil an expanded show floor layout that includes a new hall where 168 companies will present their products, including Dometic, International Paint (Akzo) and Yamaha.
A grand total of 1,471 exhibitors will be found throughout the RAI Amsterdam complex, a significant rise on the 1,385 stands in 2015, which was itself a record figure.
The fact that 290 companies will be exhibiting at the METS Trade Show 2016 is further testimony to the show’s position as the platform of choice to meet the maritime world.
Strong year-on-year growth is also seen at the three shows-within-a-show: The SuperYacht Pavilion will host 265 exhibitors, compared to 224 in 2015, with 64 stands in the Marina & Yard Pavilion sold out (49 in 2015) and 45 in the Construction Material Pavilion (31 in 2015).
