The Viking Yacht Company saw record attendance and strong sales at the 2019 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, drawing more than 8,100 visitors and selling 19 boats from 33 to 80 feet.
Nine Vikings and 10 boats from the company’s new Valhalla Boatworks center-console series were sold, and many deals were in the works after the five-day event wrapped up on Sunday.
Viking also had a record 23 boats on display, with five world premieres including the Viking 38 Open Billfish, the Viking 46 Billfish and the Valhalla Boatworks V Series, which includes the V-33, V-37 and V-41 — all the result of a manufacturing ramp-up over the past nine months.
“It’s absolutely incredible what we’ve been able to accomplish with these five new models,” Viking President and CEO Pat Healey told more than 60 members of the media during a press conference, according to a statement. “No one in this industry could have done what we’ve done. We have a tremendous facility and industry-leading technology. But more importantly we have the people — great boatbuilders, dealers and customers.”
Viking said its display on D-Dock drew 2,000-plus visitors on two separate days.
