West Marine is partnering with America’s Boating Club, the National Safe Boating Council and other safety organizations during the month of May.
The safety and educational partnerships lead up to the start of National Safe Boating Week, which will be held May 22-28.
“West Marine is a long-time supplier and outfitter of safety gear, and we are now proud to extend our resources with our partners America’s Boating Club, National Safe Boating Council and BoatUS both in-store and online throughout the entire month of May,” West Marine CEO Ken Seipel said in a statement.

West Marine will offer safety checklists for customers and information on free vessel-safety checks; life-jacket fittings by trained associates; and discounted towing through BoatUS during National Safe Boating Week.
The retailer will also provide online resources, such as educational videos and information on its community forum The Dock Line, along with social-media posts and new-boat-owner webinars and Q&As on social media channels.
“The National Safe Boating Council is excited to partner with West Marine to help further educational and safety efforts for boaters everywhere,” said Peg Phillips, executive director of the NSBC. “Knowing how to boat responsibly and have a properly fitted life jacket are two essential practices.”
