West Marine will re-open its flagship store in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., plus seven other retail locations on March 17.
The Fort Lauderdale event will start with a ribbon cutting on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. City mayor Jack Seiler will be a special guest.
The 50,000-square-foot store is the largest in the company. Store manager Peter Avlogitos and his staff of more than 100 associates have more than 1,000 years of combined boating, fishing, sailing, cruising and paddling experience.
“I have been with West Marine for over 17 years and I have to say that South Florida is a paradise for all warm weather waterlife,” said Avlogitos in a statement. “From fishing the Everglades and local canals to cruising the Atlantic on a 300-foot yacht, we certainly have it for all boats small and big, power and sail, or even as a beachgoer or a passenger on a cruise ship, the life on the water screams to be enjoyed here.”
The Fort Lauderdale store has a new entrance on the south side of the building for easier access for West Marine Pro customers. It was designed to make it easier for area professionals to get in and out quickly.
During the grand re-opening, the first 100 customers through the door will receive a West Marine Mystery Gift Card valued from $5 to $100. Guests can also spin a game wheel for the opportunity to win a $500 gift card and other prizes. West Advantage Rewards members will get double points for purchases made during the event.
