Avikus, a subsidiary of H.D. Hyundai that specializes in autonomous navigation, has partnered with AquaSport Boats to develop center console and dual console boats with navigation assistance and automated operation.

“This partnership is a testament to our shared commitment to innovation, technology and the pursuit of excellence in the recreational boating industry,” Avikus CEO Lim Dohyeong said in a statement. “Together with Aquasports Boats, we are not just introducing a new product; we intend to unleash a new era of A.I.-assisted navigation on the open water.”

The two companies plan to deliver boats equipped with Avikus systems late this year under the AquaSport, Forza X1 and Twin Vee brands. Twin Vee is the parent of AquaSport and Forza X1.

The boats will use artificial intelligence, sensor fusion and machine learning, including Avikus’ NeuBoat technology, which features 360-degree situational awareness, 3D cluster views, advanced route planning, autopilot navigation that can identify objects, and self-docking.
