PHOTO COURTESY AVIKUSKorea-based Avikus opened a U.S. headquarters at the Lauderdale Marine Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The new location will serve as the North America hub for sales, training and partnership operations for the company’s NeuBoat autonomous navigation solutions.
“Since the introduction of NeuBoat, the world’s first autonomous/ADAS solution for recreational boats, we have been eager to establish a presence in the U.S.,” managing director Paul Petani said in a statement. “This new location will allow us to continue the expansion of our team and better serve our existing customers, as well as foster the development of new partnerships. LMC offers an opportunity to be part of the premier yachting refit community.”
Shipbuilder HD Hyundai established the Avikus subsidiary in December 2020. Avikus said it has completed the second phase of its HiNAS Control autonomous system for commercial vessels, which employs artificial intelligence and augmented reality to integrate data from different navigation tools.
