Coastal and offshore fishboat builder Blackfin Boats last week celebrated its 50th year in business, having built its first boat in 1973. Today, the Williston, Fla., builder has a nine-boat model lineup with its largest boat to date — the 400CC center console — scheduled to launch at the 2023 Miami International Boat Show.

To commemorate the occasion, Blackfin Boats on Nov. 9 hosted a company-wide employee celebration. Employees were treated to a catered lunch provided by Hills Barbeque, which was served to them by Robert Pita, president of Blackfin Boats, and the company’s executive and regional sales staff.

“We are incredibly proud of Blackfin’s success, and we wanted to take the opportunity to express our gratitude to our employees and thank them personally for their hard work and dedication to perfection,” Charles Marshall, co-chairman of Blackfin, said in a statement. “We owe our success to the outstanding commitment to quality and design provided by not only our research and design team, but also our partners and skilled team members.”
