BRP and Bryton Marine Group yesterday announced an agreement for Bryton to acquire Alumacraft’s assets in St. Peter, Minn. The transaction follows BRP’s announcement last fall to sell many of its marine assets to focus on its core powersports activities.
Bryton Marine Group is a family-owned builder of welded aluminum boats, with operations in Washington and British Columbia.
“This expansion of our North American boatbuilding brand footprint supports our growth and long-term ownership objectives,” Bryton CEO Byron Bolton said in a statement. “For more than 75 years, Alumacraft has been part of family memories. Its heritage is strong in the marine community, and we can’t wait to continue growing the brand worldwide.”
Bryton Marine Group serves the commercial, government, sportfishing and adventure markets in North America, with models from 17 to 150 feet.
The transaction is expected to close by the end of BRP’s first quarter, the statement said.
