MDL Marinas has partnered with its tenant, SE Yachts, to become the official marina partner for the Candela C-8 foiling boat in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The retail location will be based at MDL’s Hamble Point Marina in Southampton.
“With MDL Marinas leading the charge to support electric boating with the addition of Aqua superpower fast charging facilities at its marinas, this exciting new partnership is a natural fit for the 100% electric Candela C-8,” Alasdair Marshall, director at SE Yachts, said in a statement. “MDL’s support will enable us to maximize the promotion of this innovative all-electric vessel to the UK market, highlighting the advances in electric boat manufacture and promoting a more environmentally friendly way to get out on the water.”
In 2021, MDL partnered with Aqua Superpower to become the first marina group in England to install electric boat chargers.
Tim Mayer, sales and marketing director at MDL Marinas, said his company founded the Green Tech Boat Show to showcase environmentally conscious boating and has invested in an electric charging corridor in the region.
“Now it’s time to take the next step and support the manufacturers and dealers who are producing and marketing craft designed to reduce the impact of boating on the marine environment,” Mayer said in the statement. “We look forward to seeing our customers and potential owners enjoying the Candela C-8 out on the water.”
