Metstrade yesterday announced that nominations are open for the DAME Design Awards donation, which is given each year to a charity in the leisure marine sector. The selected charity will receive a financial donation and gain significant visibility, helping further its mission.

“As the organizer of the world’s largest leisure marine exhibition, we are proud to play an active role in strengthening the social, environmental, and economic impact of the marine sector,” Niels Klarenbeek, director of Metstrade, said in a statement. “Our goal is to support and connect charitable organizations with the resources and networks needed to address the significant challenges and opportunities they face.”

Since 2008, the DAME Design Awards have contributed over €250,000 ($273,000) to various charitable causes. Last year, more than €17,000 ($18,500) was donated to SailWise, a non-profit that offers water sports for people with disabilities, promoting independence and confidence.

Applications for this year’s program are due by May 2. The award will be presented to the chosen charity during the official Metstrade opening ceremony at the RAI Amsterdam on Nov. 19, 2025.
