Dragonfly Energy Holdings announced last week that it completed the acquisition of substantially all of the operating assets tied to the Dakota Lithium brand, expanding the battery manufacturer’s reach across marine, outdoor recreation, powersports and other specialty-battery markets. Dakota Lithium will continue operating as a distinct brand alongside Dragonfly’s existing Battle Born Batteries brand, with each maintaining its own product focus, market position and customer community, the company said.
“Dakota Lithium has established a recognized position across marine, outdoor recreation and other specialty applications,” Dragonfly chief commercial officer Wade Seaburg said in a statement. “We see a meaningful opportunity to build on that foundation by supporting product availability, expanding distribution and introducing more customers to the Dakota Lithium brand. Our focus is to bring Dragonfly Energy’s broader commercial and operational capabilities to the business while strengthening support for customers and channel partners.”
Dragonfly said it intends to work closely with Dakota Lithium’s distributors, dealers and customers throughout the transition, and is working to replenish inventory, with product availability expected to expand in the coming months. The Reno, Nev.-based company said additional information on customer support and commercial programs will be shared as plans are finalized.
