Connecticut-based Drew International announced that it acquired Trac-Ecological, a Florida-based supplier of environmentally friendly chemical solutions for the maritime industry.
With the acquisition, Drew enters the boat and yacht segment. Financial terms of the transaction were not released.
Trac-Ecological’s products include descalers, cleaners, degreasers, flushing units and accessories, which will now be offered under the Drew Marine brand. Drew said it will move production to its manufacturing center in Waterbury, Conn., and open a showroom and service center in the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., area.
“We are excited to add the Trac brand of products to the Drew family, as it allows us to fill out our portfolio of maritime solutions and represents a natural fit for our marine segment,” Frank J. Monteiro, president and CEO of Drew International, said in the statement.
“Drew will bring resources that were not available to Trac that will allow for even better access to our marine chemical solutions,” Patrick Leclerc, president of Trac-Ecological, said.
