A Michigan Labor and Economic Opportunity filing confirms that 239 workers will be affected by Groupe Beneteau’s decision to close it’s Cadillac, Mich., facility, where it has produced Glastron, Four Winns and Scarab Jet boats since acquiring the brands in 2014. According to the filing, the workers will be laid off starting in August.

According to reporting on the mLive website, Rec Boat Holdings operates out of seven buildings in Cadillac around the intersection of West 13th Street and Leeson Avenue.

Beneteau cited a downturn in the U.S. boating market, softening demand for bowriders and the impact of the Middle East conflict as reasons behind its decision to shutter the factory and divest the three brands.
