Edson announced that it was acquired by former CEO Adam Cove and Potentia Manufacturing Group. The acquisition includes the pump division, sailboat steering products, accessories, electronics mounts and custom fabrication facilities.
Potentia Manufacturing Group includes partners David Slutz, Michael Trotta, Edward Schatz and Michael Hullinger. Cove served as Edson CEO from 2016 until the previous sale of the company in 2021. Potentia adds capabilities with New England Foundry; Franklin Sheet Metal; machine shops MacDiarmid, Jet Machined Products, ITAL-TECH and Talon; Trilap Precision Finishing; Crystal Engineering; Plastech Molding Solutions; and Plastech Machining & Fabrication.
The company will operate as Edson Pumps LLC, with all non-pump products to be sold under the Jacob E. Marine name, due to a partial sale of the Edson trademark in late 2025 that also included PowerWheels, drink holders and ComfortGrips to a different buyer.
“We will continue to build on Jacob Edson’s legacy,” Cove said in a statement. “Our core manufacturing team remains in place from my previous tenure, and it’s great to be working together again. The support and encouragement from our domestic and international customer base has been heartening.”
New England Foundry, previously owned by Edson and also known as AnBar Foundry, will be reunited under the new ownership team. Slutz added in the statement: “Our access to Potentia’s manufacturing capabilities greatly expands our ability to deliver exceptional products. We’ll remain dedicated to delivering top-notch service and products.”
