Freedom Boat Club announced yesterday its expansion into New Zealand, with three locations to open in 2025: Auckland, Christchurch and Queenstown.
“We are thrilled to be expanding our Asia-Pacific presence into New Zealand,” David Kurczewski, general manager of boating services, Asia-Pacific, said in a statement. “New Zealand boasts the highest boat ownership per capita in the world at 21%, reflecting an active and passionate boating community.”
The New Zealand franchise will be owned and operated by Scott Williamson, who with his family owns and operates Sports Marine.
The Auckland location, at Westhaven Marina, will be the first to open. Each location will have a fleet of Sea Ray and Rayglass boats with Mercury engines and Navico Group electronics, all brands within the Brunswick portfolio.
