COURTESY GETMYBOATOnline boat-rental marketplace Getmyboat announced today that COO Bryan Petro has been promoted to CEO, taking over for co-founder Sascha Mornell, who remains on the board of directors.
“Bryan was employee number one at Getmyboat — there is no Getmyboat without Bryan,” Mornell said in a statement. “I am so thankful for his contributions over the years and so proud of what he has accomplished. We are poised for the next exponential growth phase under his leadership.”
Petro was hired to develop and oversee product design, company organization and growth. According to the statement, he has been the driving force behind the company’s global expansion since 2013. Petro also facilitated Getmyboat’s first external capital raise from Yanmar, which ultimately led to Yanmar’s majority acquisition in 2021.
