Groupe Beneteau yesterday announced that it acquired Sailing Atlantic Services, which specializes in the installation of navigation and safety equipment, as well as boat customization, maintenance and storage. The company’s facilities are located in Les Sables-d’Olonne, France, where Beneteau’s Lagoon and Excess catamarans are commissioned.

“The acquisition of Sailing Atlantic Services is part of our commitment to building an ever more comprehensive range of services to enhance our customers’ experience,” Groupe Beneteau executive board chairman Bruno Thivoyon said in a statement. “It draws on recognized expertise and strong regional roots, which are an integral part of the Group’s DNA.”

Groupe Beneteau also announced a €3.3 million ($3.9 million) investment in Les Sables-d’Olonne for the development of a service center in the Port Olona 3 area, where Sailing Atlantic Services will be set up.

“This merger is the natural progression of many years of partnership based on trust,” Denis Fauvet, CEO of Sailing Atlantic Services, added in the statement. “It will enable us to expand our range of prestations and bring more services to our customers.”
