Harborage Yacht Club and Marina of Stuart, Fla. will be the site Aug. 8 for this year’s National Marina Day opening event.
The Association of Marina Industries, which manages National Marina Day, will now always designate the recipient of the prior year’s Marina of the Year award as the opening site.
This is not only a reward for the winning marina, buy they will gain from the added publicity that comes from being home to the National Marina Day signature event, according to AMI.
Harborage Yacht Club and Marina is already planning its event to be bigger and better than last year. Previously, the marina held an all-day event that included tours of the facility, an in-water boat show and dozens of land displays by area boatbuilders, yacht brokers and other marine-related organizations and businesses.
“Our National Marina Day team is already brainstorming new ideas and concepts to bring this year’s celebration to the next level,” said Gary Guertin, manager at Harborage, in a statement. “As ‘ground zero’ for this year’s National Marina Day, Harborage Yacht Club and Marina looks forward to placing the City of Stuart, Florida in the national limelight, and we look forward to educating others across the United States on the significant role marinas play in their communities”
