Martac, a leading developer and supplier of unmanned surface vessels for defense and maritime security applications, today announced a strategic partnership with Intrepid Powerboats. Through the partnership, Intrepid will manufacture carbon-fiber vessels to support Martac’s growing portfolio of unmanned vessels for the U.S. government, allied nations and commercial customers.

“At Intrepid, we’ve spent decades building some of the finest boats in the world, and we’re honored to bring that expertise to support critical maritime missions for our nation’s defense,” company president Terry McNew said in a statement. “This partnership with Martac represents an exciting opportunity to combine our world-class boatbuilding capabilities with cutting-edge autonomous technology. We are proud to contribute to programs that help strengthen the operational readiness and effectiveness of the United States Navy.”

The statement said the companies will deliver next-generation maritime platforms designed to meet the evolving operational requirements of the U.S. government.
