Irish Boat Shop, which has many locations in Michigan, has hired Shae B. Cross as president. He succeeds Michael C. Esposito. Cross will take over as president on Nov. 1 after a transition period. Esposito will stay on as a director of the company.
Cross brings experience from his tenure as general manager of Sundance Marine/Top Notch Marina in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He started his professional career in 2007 in banking, finance and manufacturing before transitioning to the marine industry. Before that, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps and reached the rank of captain.
“Shae has a strong track record of building and leading teams in a variety of organizations,” Irish Boat Shop board chair Susan Irish Stewart said in a statement. “He is passionate about boats and boating and dedicated to the Irish Boat Shop mission of caring for boats so people can have fun boating.”
Cross will lead Irish Boat Shop’s team of more than 80 employees including full-time, part-time and seasonal workers. The company offers new and used boat shops plus docking, storage, service repair and restoration at its facilities in Harbor Springs, Charlevoix and Traverse City, Mich.
