Tom Degremont and Sam Howell, the principals at Langan Design Partners, added design engineer Alex Donlan to the Newport, R.I.-based naval architecture firm.

“Alex hit the road running and has already helped move several of our projects forward,” Degremont said in a statement. “We have a full workload in the months ahead, and having Alex join the team enhances our ability to deliver for our clients.”

Donlan said he has worked on a wide range of projects, including cold-molding and carbon construction. He said the range of designs that the firm takes on, especially the larger ones, attracted him.

“These guys have this wonderful mix of everything from classic schooners in steel and wood to FRP designs,” he said.
