Grady-White announced that Bernard “Bing” Fishman, a longtime Northeast sales representative, died last week at 85. Fishman was a resident of Newry, Maine, and formerly of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mass. He was instrumental in building the Grady-White brand in the Northeast from his start at the company in the 1960s.
Fishman retired in 2009.
“Bing was well-known and respected in the marine industry, and many dealers from Grady-White and other brands knew him from his 40 years with Grady-White,” vice president of marketing Shelley Tubaugh told Trade Only Today. “Although we realize some of you don’t know Bing, we share this with you just in case your paths had crossed. Those of us who knew him will miss him very much. Our deepest sympathies are with Bing’s family at this sad time.”
Fishman was not only known as a consummate sales rep, but as one with a high level of integrity who worked hard to ensure that dealers and customers always received the care they needed, sources told Trade Only Today.
