The Michigan Boating Industries Association said members participating in an insurance program with The Hanover were awarded more than $200,000 in annual safety dividends in just three years.
“This member program is unique in that any insurance agent in Michigan can offer the program to their customers, so it’s a win for everybody, especially the MBIA member receiving discount,” Harbor Risk national program manager Tim Lucas said in a statement.
“The MBIA offers many benefits to our members, but the MBIA Hanover Insurance Program is one of the most popular and tangible, money-saving benefits,” MBIA executive director Nicki Polan said. “In many cases the savings outweigh the cost of membership, which comes with so much more than an insurance discount.”
Members that are also certified clean marinas with the Michigan Clean Marina Program receive an additional discount for being a steward of environmental awareness and safety.
