The Newport International Boat Show yesterday announced that attendance exceeded expectations, with 10% more boats on display and an additional 8,000 square feet of exhibit space.

The Newport for New Products program showcased 18 new boat models and 14 products making their U.S. debut. The program ultimately recognized eight boats and products that were selected for innovation and overall value to customers.

“This year’s show was a tremendous success,” director Lisa Knowles said in a statement. “Thanks to the support of our Newport community, exhibitors, sponsors and partners, the event came together smoothly, and attendees had a fantastic time. The 54th NIBS truly demonstrated a shared commitment by all involved to the success of the event.”

Hundreds of attendees took part in classroom sessions covering a wide range of topics, and dozens more joined hands-on workshops for an immersive learning experience. Also, Freedom Boat Club’s BoatClass delivered on-water training.

“The Newport International Boat Show is truly spectacular. From the setting and the people to the atmosphere that defines this event, it is a pleasure to kick off the boat show season in Newport,” Informa Markets U.S. boat shows president Andrew Doole said in the statement. “We had over 350 boats in the water this year, everything from paddleboards to 90-foot yachts and all the gear and accessories to enhance your boating experience.”
