Hamble, England-based marine electronics firm Osprey Technical named Richard Kent a director. Kent spent more than 20 years in professional yacht racing with a focus on electronics.
Osprey specializes in electronics systems for superyachts and racing vessels, and Kent headed up the refit of the Gunboat 90 Tiger Lily Too in Newport, R.I.
“Becoming a director at Osprey is a new career highlight for me,” Kent said in a statement. “Previously, it was being part of the ABN Amro and Ericsson teams that won the Volvo Ocean Race, as well as being closely involved in running the electronics teams for major projects. I’m going to be more involved with shaping the growth of Osprey and mentoring and developing our engineering team skill set.”
Kent also worked with America’s Cup campaigns OneWorld Challenge, Victory Challenge, Alinghi and Oracle.
