OXE Marine this week announced that it is partnering with steering components manufacturer Uflex. The collaboration will allow OXE to use Uflex’s Integra fly-by-wire steering control.
“This collaboration will enable us to further enhance the performance and control of our diesel outboard motors,” OXE CTO Lenny Jensen said in a statement.
The Integra system is designed for outboards and includes hydraulic pumps, joysticks, autopilot compatibility, a variety of cylinder configurations, tie bars, NMEA communication and, eventually, electric options.
“Uflex USA and Ultraflex are excited to pair an innovative control system, Integra, with an innovative engine platform,” Uflex president and general manager Scott Rath said in the statement. “The numerous configuration options provide OEM’s flexibility, while the simplicity of the system allows for reduced installation costs.”
