The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation has partnered with Pure Fishing to equip a Take Me Fishing Mobile First Catch Center for the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. The donation will let the DNR bring hands-on fishing opportunities and conservation education to multicultural audiences in metropolitan areas across the state.

“This collaboration between industry and state is the type of cooperation needed to continue attracting and retaining new anglers and boaters,” RBFF president and CEO Dave Chanda said in a statement.

Take Me Fishing Mobile First Catch Centers launched in 2018 as a pilot program in Texas and Pennsylvania. The trailers contain rods, reels, nets, coolers and tackle. State fish and wildlife agencies oversee programming and provide experiential learning opportunities for participants.

“Initiatives like the mobile center are innovative ways to bring fishing to metropolitan areas and introduce the sport we love to a new generation of anglers,” said Marc Kempter, vice president of marketing communications for Pure Fishing.

South Carolina joins 19 states and the District of Columbia in operating two dozen Take Me Fishing Mobile First Catch Centers.
